When I learned of this Festival’s inspirational and courageous beginnings and its passion to be inclusive and create opportunities for underrepresented filmmakers and writers, I knew I wanted to support it by sending in my work. I’m so glad I did. Though I couldn’t make the trip east this time, Festival Directors Hammad and Jonathan kept me well informed with warm and positive emails. Their commitment to the growth of their Fest and the expanding of opportunities for the creative community is evident. “When life throws you challenges…overcome them with positive actions that also help others!” could be the motto of this Fest. I look forward to participating again.
